The Armstrong is a thoughtfully designed multi-generational home that artfully marries Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired Prairie architecture with contemporary living spaces and modern amenities.
On the exterior it was important to our clients that we incorporated warmer wood tones against more contemporary color tones, material and textures. We use a lot of cedar on the exterior of our homes to create that look.
Entertaining friends and family was an important design consideration as well as incorporating tall ceilings and many windows to showcase the territorial views Livingston Ridge has to offer.
Having a gourmet kitchen was also high on the list focusing on a space that was geared toward baking. We design every home around the specific needs of the client. We love the bold colors used here.
Going with a built-in cooktop allows for additional storage beneath the cooking surface. This is a great option for a medium-sized kitchen. The slab backsplash is not only much easier to clean but really completes the elegance the client called for in this space.
The client wanted a separate baking station outside of the daily kitchen space. We designed this pass-through storage pantry and baking station behind the kitchen privatizing daily food storage and prep area. Another common request are mudroom “drop zones” for shoes and coats. We love how clean this looks while bringing in some warm wood tones as well.
The luxurious primary suite took advantage of the beautiful southern views and brought in a ton of sunlight. Wood ceiling accents are a common request in many of our builds. We also love the make up station built within the custom designed closet.
The primary baths tend to be the sanctuary of the home. There are so many various ideas to incorporate when you’re building. This home highlights a spa like free standing tub, bold large format tile with a deep texture, high end brushed gold plumbing fixtures and a large LED lit mirror over the vanity.
Outdoor living is a must in the Pacific Northwest. In almost every one of our homes we are designing outdoor kitchens or bbq stations, incorporating in-ceiling heaters to keep you warm during all seasons and focusing on large covered patios. The goal is always to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living space expanding your entertaining area during any time of year. We were able to create a separate cooking station to the side of the covered patio in this home maximizing the useability of the covered outdoor living.
